Fosse Way (Kemble-Bath)

In August 2014, I cycled from Kemble to Bath along the old Roman road, the Fosse Way; with my 10 year-old son. It is a fantastic ride along by-ways and minor roads. A mountain bike or hybrid is required as the surface is rough in places. There is a pub (The Salutation) at about 16 miles (kitchen shuts at 14:00). The added bonus is the new Two Tunnels' greenway in Bath which uses the old Somerset and Dorset trackbed to go south from Bath to Wellow and Radstock. To return from Bath was an hour's train journey to Reading, although we could have returned along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
